Ridges on nails

I notice as I am getting older I am getting more ridges on the surface of my nails.Does any one know a solution to this ?

Eating avocados always helps me with my ridged nails Pat. They're always smooth during avocado season.

I love advocados and eat every day in season but haven't noticed any difference with my nails.You could be right though ib-n the sense my nails are deficient in something.Thanks Mareeb

Mum used to say that dolomite tablets fixed it for her. For me I think it's caused by my thyroid and my mum had thyroid issues as well. Dolomite is a rich source of calcium and magnesium so maybe it's a defiency of those, among other things, that can cause it. Like most things, there probably isn't a singular cause, and for me, thyroid has robbed my body of all things.  Avocados have lots of magnesium and good fats, I think that's why they work for me.

Mm Dolimite may be worth a try as I don't like milk so have very little in anything so my calcium could be the issue.

I have bought a product called Qsilica from Chemist warehouse which is meant to help nails so hopefully this will help.

Eary days for the ridges to improve but my nails are getting a nice shine on them and seem a little harder.

Qsilica is doing the trick -My nails are looking the best they have ever been ,stonger and ridges so less noticeable !! Yea !!

I will try that product Pat17 - thanks! My friend told me to use cuticle oil 3 times a day (I could never remember that many times!!). I have tried my best for a few months and it hasnt really improved my nails, so this sounds like a good option.

Millyw I hope you find it works well for you too. I started notiing the difference after taking one capsule a day within two weeks and my nails have never looked better. Good Luck
