Semi-Hooded Eyelid - Eyeshadow

Are there any ladies on here that have semi hooded lids like me?? I LOVE shadow but coz of the way my lids "fold" when my eyes are open... my shadow basically disappears into the fold/crease of my eyelid. Its so frustrating! I feel like I cant raise my eyeshadow up above a certain point either as my lids are kind of puffy and it would look silly if I did lol. Does anyone have any ideas of how to overcome this or do my shadow a different way maybe?
s I have the same issue - what I like to do is extend my shadow up and a little above the crease and kind of wing it out over the corner of my eyes if that makes sense? I found This article helped http://valuablejunkurbancowgirl.wordpress.com/2013/11/11/8-makeup-tips-for-hooded-eyelids/
My eyes are exactly the same, it can be a pain sometimes, some tips Ive learnt is
Highlighter - under your brow bone is a must as it lifts your eyes.
Using a pearlised pale eyeshadow on the upper eyelid helps to create more lift aswell
Use a darker shader only on the fullest part of your hooded eyes, mine tends to be the outer corners, and a much as it takes ahile to get use to, blend it up into the highlighted area beneath the arch of your brow, it helps to create the illusion your eyes are more open :)
Youtube have some really good videos as well if you just looked up make up for hooded or overhanging eyelids :)

Ooo Thank you jessickaxnz!! Am having a read of this article right now! I think I need to find someone to shape my brows as I'm too scared to change the shape they are now lol.
I have asian eyes so my lids are always hiding. When I first started to wear makeup I couldn't understand where my eyeshadow disappeared to after I put it on and I wore very dark and thick shadow on my lids. My sister who doesn't have hooded lids tried to copy me and she ended up looking like she got punched in the eye.
I have found that wearing a lighter shadow on my actual lids and then shading in the outer corner with a slightly darker color and blending it in to about a third of the lid and then blending it the slightly darker color wear the bone is on the eye socket helped make my eyes pop.

My eyeshadow creasing problem seems to have gone away.
On recommendations of makeup chickies on here I started using translucent powder on top of cream eyeshadow, then I apply normal shadow enhancement over the top.
I'm using the first powder I bought, which is the ELF under eye setting powder. Looks white but once brushed in, it disappears.

Don’t worry if you have semi hooded eyelids because there is a lot that can be done to fix hooded eyelids issue. However, you can also make use a product that can help you get rid of semi hooded eyelids. I think you can try some home remedies prepared with egg white, aloe vera gel and more. Both these will help you a lot to fix your semi-hooded eyes.
I like to use my transition shade above my crease and use a pale color on lid. I watched a YouTube tutorial today of doing a halo eye using a rich brown from the power of makeup two faced palette on the inner and outer part of the lid and a lighter shimmery champagne color in center. I haven't tried that but I would like to. I haven't even thought of doing halo eye with hooded eyes but this one was specifically for hooded eyes
