HELP PLS! What is the best hair bleach?!
10 posts, 10 members
I truly hope someone can help me! We've recently moved to New Zealand and i've bleached my hair for almost 8 years. I dyed my hair brown a few months ago and my natural hair colour is dark brown. I desperately want to bleach my hair again (I use a highlight cap) What is the BEST bleach that will lighten my dark brown hair as much as possible that is available in NZ?
I would go to a salon for this. The reason is, because you have colored it, to get it light you first have to strip it then bleach then tone. I used to bleach my own her ( the pic on my profile). I used loreal bleach from farmers and then I used loreal level 9.21 or 9.12 to tone it. I am a hairdresser so I did know what to do etc. If you definitely don't want to go to salon you can get a colour remover buy Loreal as well, from farmers. That I would use first on mid length to ends. Then the bleach then the toner. But I do recommend for this first time to get light again that a hairdresser do it, then you can buy the box and do roots. Hope this helps.
I used to dye my mums hair regularly and she had brown/red coloured hair.
We found that the best results were achieved with the Schwarzkoph Nordic range, which you can get from most supermarkets and department stores in New Zealand :) They have streaking kits too which come with a cap.
I found that some supermarkets had a limited range but The Warehouse had a large variety of the Nordic kits

Does Avon still have that 'sun in' stuff? I can remember my mum used it all the time and it didn't dry her hair like having it fully stripped at the salon. I had mine stripped at a salon and totally regretted it, they even brought in the Loreal tech to do it but it was just way too much for my hair! I agree gradual process is the way to go
If you are wanting the best results of going blonde and getting the best bleach thats going to lift your hair 5-8 shades lighter ?then i suggest going to your closest professional salon retail selling shampoo and product store and getting a 20 or 30 or 40 vol bleach kit at a resonable cheap price.garunteed to get the best results aslong as you CAREFULLY follow the manusfature instructions and reapet if need.make sure you have a good toner and also pays to purchase purple shampoo and conditioner to get rid of those ting orange and yellow streaks the bleach may leave behing in your hair
This is a bit off topic, but I'll just use this space to rant. I bleached my hair steadily for over a decade, and I wish so badly I could take this back. I have finally cut off all the old bleached hair, and my new growth isn't what it was as a child. Uhh, atleast with my routine now it is getting better and better, hopefully it will be something to be proud of in a couple years.
