Can someone help?????? I have very very long curly frizzy hair that has been coloured. Just wanted to know if I should be using shampoo and conditioner for dry damaged hair or shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair???? Not sure which one is best for my hair. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance..... :-)

Hi Kiwi-Lightz I too have thick, frizzy, dry, coloured hair and I've found that shampoo and conditioner ranges that are designed for colour treated hair have a huge moisture content in them so I use only that type, such as Schwarkopf BonaCure Colour Freeze or Colour Lock, both are great.  But having dry hair and colouring it means it needs as much moisture as you can throw at it, so regular hair masks or leave in deep conditioners are a must! even just a run through with coconut or olive oil does wonders for it, once or twice a month.

It depends - was your hair lightened? If so, that would have caused damage to your hair so you need to repair that damage. I really like Fudge Dynamite treatment - it's a mixture of moisture and protein so you get the best of both!
You can also mix up your shampoo and conditioner so you're using a colour protect shampoo and a moisturising conditioner. The whole Pureology range is colour safe, and their hyrdrate shampoo and conditioner is amazing!

I don't have curly hair, but I would look after the colour - and I like the suggestion for conditioning masks or treatments in between to combat dryness :-)  I just had my hair coloured and foiled last night and purchased some special colour lock shampoo and conditioner that they use in the salon.  It smells devine! and my hair is so soft and shiney.  Might last longer (and brighter) than last time with this stuff

My fav when I colour my hair is Tresseme colour care. The shampoo and conditioner feel great. Also I used to use a leave in conditioning treatment. Any of the brands would be good. I used redken and kerastaste leave in and it did wonders. Is very pricey.

I swear by and sulfate free shampoo and conditioner for coloured hair along with weekly coconut oil or coconut cream treatments.
Also a good tip is to make sure you spend a bit of time really working the shampoo into your scalp and massaging it while doing so to stimulate your hair follicles :)

I second the sulphate free shamp and cond, helps keep my colour super bright, I also use serums when finishing to help my frazzled bits

I colour and lighten my hair all the time, and I've found that the L'Oreal Elvive range has been best for locking in that moisture for me. I use their Colour Protect shampoo/conditioner and their Instant Miracle wash-out treatment which I am in love with!

I cut down on shampoo usage as curly hair and shampoo are a mix made in hell. Shampoo about once a week and in between washes just use conditioner

I'd look at redken in salon hair care range. Maybe the colour extend shampoo with a nourishing conditioner like real control (half protein half moisture so repairing without leaving too hard as protein can do. Depending on the damage can even a mask as a conditioner instead. I do that a lot. I definitely think salon quality. Am a qualified hairdresser btw.

I have really curly fine high porosity hair. I follow the CGM so I just wash my hair with conditioner and use Tresemme Botanique restore and shine conditioner and use giovanni LA girl natural hair gel.Once a week I will shampoo with Tresemme deep cleaning shampoo.
Wide tooth comb hair while wet, never brush when dry unless Im detangling before I wash. I dry my hair with a cotton towel or microfiber towel and pat dry, never rub and I sleep with my hair in a plait on satin pillow cases.
