I gave in on my attempt to grow my hair out and had my first haircut in quite some time today.  At the end my very helpful hairdresser dude sprayed in some dry shampoo and gave it a bit of a ruffle. I love it! I usually have to choose between smooth but dry or texture and oil but this stuff has given a bit of texture and smoothness without oiliness. I will have to go back and ask what brand they use so I can get some myself. Does anyone else find it works for them? What brand do you use?

I like Batiste and Schwarzkopf dry shampoos, and the Kevin Murphy Anti.Gravity spray and lotion (have only briefly tested the spray out, but I really like it).

this stuff is great.... I like the schwarzkopf brand found it to be cheap and work just as good as the sometimes expensive salon versions..
the other prtoduct that is similar is the hair dust or powder....
I absolutely Love this stuff. It gives great texture all day long and you only need the smallest amount.
I have found its fabulous for fine hair and gives that extra umph (volume)...
I usually just by the cheap stuff of this from paknsav... cant remember brand of the top of my head, mite have to check that one out....
I was lucky enough to be in the Battle of the Brands here on BR for Dry Shampoo and I love it!  I have the Redkin one and its perfect for my oily scalp/dry ends hair. :)

The Redken one sounds so good wish my budget would allow for it! I've tried time and time again to love dry shampoo's.. have tried Tressemme, John Frieda and multiple Batiste ones but somehow they never seem to work for me :( I've got super oily hair and have to wash everyday (bad I know!) so a great dry shampoo would be a saviour for me! Wishing I could find one that worked but for now I'll have to say loathe, they just bulk my hair up with product and don't help my oilyness :(

I love the batiste Dry shampoo, I have tryed a few others and this one really stands out and dose a really good job. Becarful if you try the XXL it is really is full on and heavy. Also if you spray it in the night before it works just as good and it will get rid of any white patches if you have any other color hair than blonde :)

I wash my hair regularly but there are days when I get lazy especially this winter and use Batiste dry shampoo, works great. I also use Lush dry shampoo at times but it makes my hair rough so not a big fan of it.

I am currently using the Batiste dry shampoo and I love it! As gross as it sound, I could go three days without washing my hair lol and I have long thick hair... ewww haha. but I mean, my point is, I went three days without washing my hair, but sprayed dry shampoo instead and my hair still looked as shiny and nice as if I have just washed my hair in the shower!

I have previously used the Lush dry shampoos, like actual dry powder stuff and I hated it! Didn't do anything to my hair, made my hair all greasy and leaves white marks all over. Sometimes I didn't even notice until someone say "why do you have white powders in your hair?" Ooooh embarrased much?!

I didnt like the Batiste when I had mine, it didnt work for me - made my hair oily and dirty - but it's personal preference and not everything can work for everyone unfortunately.

I've used the fudge one which is horrible. The Kevin murphy one was ok and batiste is ok too but my hair gets really matted when I use it. It also seems that there is a limit of how much youse before my hair looks oily and horrible. Haven't had a successful experience yet

I really love the Batiste range, I find they work really well on my hair. The only other one I have tried is a KMS one which I really disliked, found it didn't do much to freshen my hair at all.

Took me a while to be convinced to try a dry shampoo - I was a hair-wash/blow-dry fanatic.

I've since tried Batiste (Wild and Sassy), and I have to say, I love it. It makes my hair sit just as nice as if I've actually washed and styled it - plus it smells devine to boot.

I don't know if it's just me, but I find them quite pricey - I'm surprised at how much they cost and they aren't often on special (again, might just be me).

My roots really get crazy oily and I wash my hair twice a week so Batiste really works for me on those in between days and gets my roots looking fresh and clean without any dandruff like build up or matted hair. I wouldnt use any other dry shampoo.

I use the batiste dry shampoo.  I get the original I dont like the ones that have to much scent :).  It works really well in my hair - you only need a tiny bit and work it through the roots.  its ag reat quick fix if you cant wash your hair.

I've used the FUDGE one before and didn't like it. I don't know if it was just a bad bottle but it left white powder all through my hair and was really hard to rub it or get out. Ended up just looking like a bad case of dandruff!

They have their place. It's a bit like hair spray in that sometimes it's a necessary evil. I hate the way it feels, but it makes such a huge difference if you don't have time to wash or need a little volume or texture.

I totally love dry shampoo. My hair is so greasey, even after one day of washing it. I personally hate washing my hair. My hair is also thin, fine and quite long. So I turn to Dry shampoo alot! I use "Not Your Mothers" dry shampoo and its amazing. I purchased this from my Sisters hair salon not sure where else you can get it. I'm sure heaps of other salons and hair product stores would sell it though. Hope this helps. x

Dry shampoo is my holy grail of hair products - I wash my hair once a week and probably use dry shampoo 2x a week to stop that shiny look. Batiste is my favourite! I've used the Fudge one and wasn't impressed. I go through so much of this stuff it's crazy.. I've also found the Tigi Bed Head Sugar Dust works well as a dry shampoo although it's kinda pricy.

Some great pointers for which ones to aim for! In typical cheap and cheerful fashion I'll end up trying a generic brand then move through other options if I have to haha
I use in my daughters hair when getting ready in the morning. I love how it makes her hair clean & shiny between washes. My hair on other hand, diskike cause I use alot of sticky products when styling
I really want to try the Batiste dry shampoo! I know a lot of people use it and they all say it's really good. I went to pick it up at the supermarket then put it back down. It hasn't left my mind since. The different scents they have available sound really nice. Need to try it just for something new. Never tried a dry shampoo ever in my life so this will be a great starting off point.

I stand by Batiste! I have also tried the Matrix one from my salon but I didn't like it, it was too light in texture and didn't absorb much.

The Batiste dry shampoo is quite dense, but if you spray on and leave it for a few minutes before brushing through it really helps. The tip to put it on before bed is a good one too!
I tend to use dry shampoo on my fringe as it gets oilier fastest.  I do find though that it does reach my scalp and make it itch sometimes though :(

Is it just me or my hair goes greasy when I use dry shampoo? I used the tresemme one and ew it made it a grease ball :(

jessbell8970: the Tresemme one was the first dry shampoo I'd used, and it really put me off them! There are much better ones out there - I really like Batiste, and Bristol London (if I remember the name correctly) is another good one that's not too expensive at Farmers. :)

Wow, reading this seems like the winner here is overwhelmingly the batiste dry shampoo! I'm going to have to try it I think, I've always wanted to use a dry shampoo because my roots get oily way too early & make my hair seem almost triangular

I love dry shampoo, and although i have only tried a few brands, i love using batiste!! Plus it is really affordable and easy to source!! However, i have to buy the right one for my hair, as sometimes it can leave a white trace!
I have only tried one type of dry shampoo, the Fudge one, and I love it. Although it looks like everyone else that has commented on it so far hates it!?!?!

I love the bastisse one that smells like coconut. It's so awesome if you want to go that extra day without washing your hair it really freshens your hair!

Love the Original Batiste and for the price I bought it for (=$6) I love it even more haha. But I definitely loathe the Tresemme ones, they smell so gross and made my hair so much more geasy and oily.
I use the Fudge one currently and its OK, not great, but I prefer it to the Tresemme one. Next on my list to try is definitely Batiste!

I can not remember life pre dry shampoo. I do not want to.

I adore this product and can not recommend it enough! It can make a bad hair day fab again. It boosts my hair and blends in my regrowth... Seriously. Also having pink/ purple hair means I try to wash it a lot less than I used to (this has also done wonders for my hair - it is healthier, grows faster, stronger... who knew?) and dry shampoo holds my colour longer.

I prefer dry shampoo by batiste because it does the job while still leaving my hair soft and not like i just sprayed hairspray on the roots. It also brushes out and doesn't make me wake up the next day dying to wash it out (as I have experienced with other sprays *cough* Not your mothers - clean freak *cough*). AND on top of all of that it smells amazing (helllooooo tropic one... smells good!)

Also as I am writing this I realised I think I have replied to this thread already and if so I want to blame daylight savings..... I feel like I have day light savings lag.......
