Hey team! As it's Uni study break, I've been watching a lot of YouTube Vlogs lately (Eeek) but I keep seeing all these people with gorgeous hair and hearing about their hair care routines.
I would love to know if anyone has any recommendations for hair oils, masks, treatments generally. What's your fave? What's one that a friend keeps raving about? Or you've seen on YouTube vids? I'm desperate for a boost!

Yes i know what you mean. Their hair just looks amazing. Honestly, my hair is something i really neglect and its only in the last month that im actually thinking about giving it a little bit more TLC. Iv only brought the macadamia natural oil deep treatment mask, because of the really positive reviews it had. But i havent had the chance to try it for long enough to review it. Would love to see what everyone else thinks though. Frizz and dullness is a big issue for my hair
I have to say the best thing I ever did for my hair was go back to basics au natural - definately not for everyone of course but I was bleaching my hair within an inch of its life and it was so hard to manage and so damaged. I grew it out which took me almost 2 years and stopped using any heat products (I cried a little for my GHD"s!) and I only use a solid natural oil shampoo bar now and my hair has grown incredibly andd its in the best condition its ever been in no flyaways nothing. I realise its not for everyone of course it took a fair amount of patience not to run back to the hairdresser and get her to fix it haha
I love using argan oil in my hair. I have an organix treatment which you can get at the supermarket. There are quite a few brands with varying price ranges that sell argan oil and argan oil products too. I apply mine to towel dried hair then air dry, makes my hair so soft. I also love using a Lorel extraordinary oil I think it's called. It comes in an orange glass spray bottle. I like spraying this on semi dry or dry hair. Coconut oil can also be used as a hair mask.
I am still on the hunt to find the perfect hair mask, that is affordable aswell as amazing. Like i said about, i am using the Morrocan Argan hair mask at the moment(which i like but its a bit pricey), but i am going to try the Hello hair mask aswell, (my friend is letting me try hers so i can try before i buy). I am also starting to use the Bossy hair mask, so hopefully one of these will be a keeper
I have really long hair and it's pretty healthy. My best recommendation would be coconut oil I like to get a tablespoon of the solid stuff and melt it and then massage the hot oil into my hair a little at a time. I leave it in for the day and then wash it out at night. I do this once week and it keeps my hair healthy.
That sounds amazing tannygirl, I almost brought another hair mask today but will give the coconut oil mask a whirl first! Do you ever mix anything else into the coconut oil like other oils to make it more rich, or do you find coconut oil is enough?
I use Pro Naturals, a hair repair system which consists of shampoo, conditioner, hair mask and argan oil leave in treatment. I follow their prescribed regime and for the other weeks I use Australian Tea Tree shampoo & conditioner. The hair mask is fantastic and really makes a difference but the game changer for me is the argan oil leave in treatment. I apply about 4 drops on my palms and gently apply it to the ends of my hair and halfway up the shaft (I have short hair, just below my ears). I do not apply any to my scalp or roots. I find that by using this after every shampoo it also protects my hair from heat damage. I do not suffer from split ends, frizzy ends, or static and my hair is very shiny.
Thanks for all the tips guys. I really have only started thinking about my hair condition of late. It's generally pretty good. Now and then if I use the wrong shampoo or conditioner it can get a bit dry on the end swhich a trim seems to fix. The fly away thing I only notice sometimes. I have oil I use after straightning now and then but I've had it for so long I forget what brand it is. :) I'd be interested to try some of the suggestions.
I've started using Schwarzkopf Essence Ultime Omega Repair Intensive Mask once a week and found it works wonders. Thought for $15 it was worth a go. My hair was feeling pretty rough (our water isn't the best quality), now it's so soft hair ties keep sliding out and it's smooth rather than a wild mess.
Can't remember who I watched that recommended it though.
