Hi all!
For over a year now I have been using Organic Care shampoo. I have found it to be great and affordable, but now after having my second baby my hair has gone dull and lifeless and it's kind of bothering me! I can't afford to buy a salon quality shampoo, but can anyone recommend a shampoo that is preferably SLS free and not tested on animals that would help to put some life and volume back into my hair? I used to be a nice light blonde with natural highlights, and right now my hair is like a light brown all over and all dull. Horrid!
I am prepared to use something that isn't SLS free and such but only if it's highly recommended! I have been SLS free in our home for three years and when I do use a shampoo that isn't SLS free my scalp burns!
Any recommendations would be great thank you! :)

I currently use Sorbet's shampoo and conditioner bars. They might be a bit expensive up front but the bars really do last a long time and I find I don't need to wash my hair as often when I use them. I currently wash my hair twice a week.
There are also other good brands as well. I recommend looking on Healthpost for a variety of SLS free shampoos and hair products if you like going natural as that site sells it lower than regular retail price, fast overnight shipping as well.
Another thing you might want to look at is using baking soda to wash and cider vinegar dilluted with water in place of conditioner as the vinegar might help cut the product buildup and add a bit of shine to your hair. Hope this was helpful.

Oh dear. You might have to wait for your hormones to re-balance. Evening primrose oil caps might help? Eating chicken and eggs is good to help support the protein in your hair also, if you're not vegetarian or allergic. I've heard some younger women saying their hair fell out after having their babies so it's most likely hormone/nutrient but may take up to 9 months to reverse itself (apparently hair cycle is 9 months?). My endocrinologist told me this after she started treating my Graves disease and it did take exactly 9 months to stop falling out. There is hope my dear, but horrid while you wait though!! Good luck :)
Yay! Thanks for the help and ideas ladies!!
Yes I have just finished (thank GOODNESS) the horrible hair loss phase. It was awful! So much hair gone! Hormones are horrid post baby. It takes forever to get back to 'normal.
I have heard about the baking soda and cider vinegar option, and I am keen to give it a try! It just sounds quite harsh and I'm worried I'll end up with dry hair? Or am I just being silly? Will give it a go! And the sorbet bars sound worth a try too! Thanks ladies! :D

Since growing my hair back to its normal state the condition of my hair is more noticable ...i have hormone problems myself (not pregnant) but something i cant control...random hair loss the works however since I changed to hair shampoo bar I have never had such great condition. I use JR Liggets shampoo bar its all natural oils and i dont use any conditioner or anything. it took a few weeks for my hair to get used to it but one thing it did do is magically give me back my natural highlights and get rid of that dirty blonde hair which I think was due to shampoo/conditioner buildup.
