Hey beauties,

I just changed jobs recently, and the job I am now in, I am mostly outside wearing jandals, or barefeet, and in two months my feet have gone to soft, lovely (mostly) feminine looking feet. To dry, rough and stained grubby looking things! Please help, I'm not really sure where to start. How do I get my feet back looking good and feeling nicer

I would give your feet a nice little soak then use a file or a pumice stone to get rid of the dead skin and rough edges. You can also use the pumice stone when your in the shower. A while ago I saw a recipe for a listerine foot soak high apparently works really well, but I haven't tried it myself. I think it's 1/4 cup listerine to 1/2 cup warm water.

Pumicing and moisturising your feet nightly will make the world of difference! I have a wand that has pumice on the end of it (or something equally as abrasive?) and I'll just run it over my heels before I get in the shower at night, then moisturise when I get out.

You can do the pumice step in the shower as well, I just find the first option gives better results. As a result my feet are always in good condition regardless of the footwear I use :)

Hey littleparadise, firstly you changed your profile photo. I like it. Im using the Scholl Pedi device and my feet are so smooth. I used to use old school Rawleighs on my heels. Im just using my nomal moisturiser at the moment.

I soak my feet in vinegar, mouthwash and hot water once a week awesome results for softening skin and helping with the hard skin sounds weird but it works 1/3s of each and soak for ten :) then dry nice and hard and dry skin sort of comes off and they are left fresh
i also pumice and moisturise a lot x

Thats some good advice Fi, I'll try that too!

Macs I haven't heard of Rawleighs in years. It was great stuff.

I second the use of vinegar in a foot bath as it is just a gentle softening and makes it easier to remove the bad parts when soft. I would suggest that you dedicate a pair of sock or get some gel lined oil infused socks to hold the moisturiser in rather than walking it off everywhere.

that's a good idea ragingfrog. I sometimes apply moisturiser before bed then put on some cotton socks to keep the moisture in.

I would agree with all the ladies suggestions. Also perhaps try to avoid walking barefoot because I think that causes the feet to toughen.

Maree Rawleighs and Tiger Balm were staple items that mum always used so I got use them alot growing up , right up to my twenties. Hard to find now though.

I've been wanting to try out the scholl device, it sounds so good. I bought this little file thing called a pedi egg. Basically,  it just files off all the hard skin. It works well but it's quite gross seeing how much skin comes off! I also use some form of  foot balm before going to bed. it helps, but you definitely need to file or pumice as well. I pretty much live in jandals so my feet get quite bad if I leave them.

I don't rate the scholl roller thingy or the Ped Egg- they are rubbish wastes of money. Get a chiropodist stone- like a pumice stone but better- $6 at the chemist (Heros is the brand that's usually there it's a black hard square sponge) I also got one at bed, bath and beyond for $4 it is pastel blue but they don't always have them there and it was called a callous smoother. You use it on wet feet with soap and it smoothest all the dry skin- best things ever. Then use a cracked heel balm.

Yay! Can't wait to get started now, thank you all so much for your advice, going to grab a pumice stone and check out the pharmacy in town for a nice moisturising balm, maybe trilogy everything balm to keep them soft. Will update you on how I go!

Thanks Macs, I try and switch up a photo each season now, keep it fresh. Right?
