L'Oréal Paris ELVIVE Smooth Intense Shampoo Review

In my opinion, this shampoo is one of the best on supermarket shelves at the moment. I have seen a marked improvement in the condition of my hair - it is definitely less frizzy and very soft. I still use styling products and my GHD, but definitely not as often between washes. The Argan oil is probably the reason for this, however, my hair can go for days without even a hint of oiliness. Considering the RRP and the results achieved, I will definitely carry on using this product. It has a lovely smell that lasts until the next wash, and the transparent bottle makes it easy to guage when you're running out.

I really enjoyed using this shampoo and I think my family did to as it is nearly all gone! I loved the clear bottle so I could see how much I had left and the colour is inviting. The smell was nice and light and not to overpowering. It gave a light scent to my hair. My hair felt silky and smooth after using it and it seemed to be alot easier to style my hair later.It was easy to rinse out which is great. The only thing I had trouble with is it seemed to be quite liquid and to begin with ended up with alot more on my hand than I wanted. I will be using this again.

First just a little about my hair. I have had oily hair for the longest time until recently. The last few times I have been to the hairdresser they have suggested a deep conditioning treatment because it has been dry and damaged. It still gets oily after a few days, but I can feel that it is dry and I get a lot of flyaways.

I like the packaging, it's easy to open and the product comes out easily. I like being able to see how much is still in the bottle as well. It smells great, I'm so fussy with smells, but I really like this one. It foams nicely, I know that's not necessary, or even probably that great. But I like the foam to know where I've put it in my hair and I guess it gives that sense of cleaning. When I wash it out, my hair doesn't feel stripped. There's no squeaky clean feeling that feels like all the moisture is gone, but I can really feel that it's clean.

Without following with a conditioner my hair didn't feel as smooth as I like, but it wasn't dry, and I did have less flyaways. Following with the conditioner I was really impressed with how smooth it felt (see conditioner review) I was unwell and I didn't wash my hair for three days and I would have still felt comfortable going out

I like that it is affordable, I am going to continue to use this product (its been on special this week for $4 so I have already got my next lot) However I have gone through quite a bit of the conditioner already.

I was skeptical to begin with, anything that I have tried in the past to smooth my frizz usually is very heavy on my extremely fine/thin hair but this was very light and didn't take any volume away. The scent is pleasant and the price is great! will definitely considering repurchasing.

I’ve used this shampoo on and off for the last couple of years, and it’s definitely one of the best that I’ve tried. I have long, very thick hair, which tends to get quite dry and ‘fluffy’ on the outside layer. I don’t ever colour it or use heat on it very much, so it’s not damaged, but it does lack natural shine and smoothness.

The bottle is perfect, in my opinion. I love that’s it’s semi-clear, so you can see exactly how much product is left, and I also love that you can stand it up on either end to get every last drop out. I think it looks more expensive than it really is.

The actual shampoo is clear goldeny-yellow. It smells amazing, in my opinion! Very salon-esque and expensive (I keep on using that word in this review!), tending towards being slightly citrusy if anything. I really like it, although it doesn’t linger around for ages once my hair has dried. A little goes a long way with this, as it foams up easily. Even though my hair is so long and thick, I can get away with using a (generous, admittedly) coin sized amount. This means that the bottle lasts for a while, which is nice.

It doesn’t leave my hair feeling super matted or tangly like some shampoos, but I always follow up with the matching conditioner anyway.

In terms of effects: with the conditioner, this leaves my hair clean, shiny and smooth. I still get a bit of frizz and wave, but it’s nothing compared to normal (and if I use the matching serum it’s basically nil in that regard). If I do use some form of heat to style my hair, I find it gives a really lovely smooth effect, so this range works really well for that. I don’t find my hair getting oily sooner than normal, and so I usually wash it every three days when using this shampoo.

Price-wise, I think this is extremely reasonable for the quality of the product. I don’t think I’ve ever paid the full $9 for it, either, as the Elvive range seems to be constantly on special – and I’m not complaining about that! :)

Overall: I really like this shampoo (and the range in general). I like to switch up my shampoos and conditioners so I don’t get bored, but I’m sure I will repurchase this (again) in the future.

Used it for the first time this morning, since its a raining day. My hair naturally is wavey but like to have it smooth and straightend for work. Didnt need to use a lot to get a good lather, with some shampoos i need to wash twice. Great fragrance too.

Okay dollz, this is my first review on a actual product that I have received, i waited for 2 days to try it out as I just ran out of my previous shampoo ( brand remains anonymous ). So, i got so my hair ( asian hair ) its quiet rough and frizzy and sometimes out of control like a lion king...hmm, so anyways. i jumped into the shower and i wet my hair as per normal then i try the products on. the texture is really thick and smells really good ( to me ) i dont like it too scented hmmm, so i lather my shampoo up and massage my hair and left it for about 1 to 2 mins then i rinse it off, honestly, i could literally run my fingers through my hair already, i then used my conditioner and i use generous amount of conditioner and i left that on for about 5 mins ( i usually leave my conditioner on quiet long to it could soak in ) and i rinse them off in warm water ( since in nz its winter ) and final rinse i did a cold water to lock in all the texture and moisture......AMAZINGGGGGGG.....my hair is sooooo smoooth ( i wish i could attach a photo of it ) and i towel dry my hair per normal and i use the loreal elvive conditoner spray ( a bonus ) for me and locks in the shine and moisture...and i just left it there to air dry since im not going anywhere....the smell is realy good and after few hours my hair was dry and i flat ironed my hair AMAZING results.....little frizz ( which i kinda expected ) and its very smooth overall i think its a wonder.....AMAZINNNNG.....i always loved L'Oreal product but it does really work wonder.... L'Oreal..because your worth it

Tried this for the first time a couple weeks ago and it's worked incredibly well - I love the way it cleans but doesn't dry my hair out too much - I will definitely continue using this one!

This is my new fave supermarket range shampoo. I love the feel of my hair after using this. It usually gets quite oily easily aswell with certain products but this brand lasted the distance even further. My hair felt amazingly soft and smooth and there was definetly less frizz than i usually have. It also smells really nice!

These shampoo and conditioner work a gem together! Seriously they make hair so smooth and shiny and all my friends love it! It doesn't fully tame my frizz but it does a pretty good job especially for the price, id definitley reccomend it for people that want to minimise frizz, coarse or hair that isn't smooth. I love this stuff and will definitley repurchase :)
